A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that Chris from American Idol should sing something from Live, and I just realized today that the rendition of "I Walk the Line" that he sang the other night was Live's cover of that song. I would have preferred the way more rockin' "I Alone", but I'll take it.

interesting how now fans are in an uproar over it, saying he should have given Live credit. I wonder if this will effect his outcome...because until now, it didn't seem like he could do no wrong.

I'm not in an uproar about it. I think that it's stupid that some fans feel that way about it. No one got all indignant about Carrie singing Faith Hill's version of "Take a Little Piece of My Heart" last season. The judges didn't seem to know about the Faith Hill version either because they told her something about taking that song and putting country in it. I guess the only gripe, then, is that can the Live cover of "Walk the Line" be counted as a song from the 50s, and that's still a stupid argument because who cares? I love Chris and I think he's awesome.

I remember that from last season, too! And they acted like she made a really horrible choice trying to sing it country? That was so absurd.

I don't see why anyone should be upset about the "Live" version. I thought he did awesome on that cover.

I think that the argument might be that in the interview before he sang, Chris never acknowledged that he was singing Live's cover of the song. I think I remember him saying something about taking Cash's song and mixing it up a bit. But then, Carrie never said anything about singing Faith Hill's version either.

If Chris gets voted off because of this, I will move to Canada!*

*I'm being extreme. I'm not really going to move to Canada. Canadians do stupid things too.

Just thought you should know, in the new Rolling Stones issue, there's an article on American Idol. They ranked what order they thought people would get kicked off, plus pros and cons of each contestant. Anyway, Chris is quoted as saying that he love's Live. And they think he'll make it to the top 2. :)
